A Little Vent
 

I teach in a small rural village off the road system where refs are a premium. No one else in the town wants to ref so my partner is one of our custodians. Should have known tonight's game would be interesting as the girls were very moody in class today (and not just the team members) and there were only 5 girls that could play.

First half was something else. My P blows his whistle on only one foul, it was on the HT, we or maybe I should say I end up with a 7-2 foul count leaning towards the visitors. I had an obvious travel, A2 catches a pass with two feet on the floor step-step (first is a pivot, second is the pivot foot back on the floor). Next time down the floor same girl has a fast break (I am transitioning to L) running up the floor right next to her, she turns and yells something at me, T. End the half with last second shot attempt on a fast break, I am trail with the clock, half to make a long distance call 50', blowing it no good before buzzer ends. Partner comes up to me at the table says, "It looked good to me." Clock keeper says, "No way, it was still in her hand." Right in front of the coaches.

Second half P starts blowing his whistle and he quickly has 6 fouls on V's and I am trying to figure out what the heck he's doing. He slowed down and didn't really have too much damage. HT had two foul out so playing with 3 but they extended the lead...what a night. I believe the better team won, but still one to vent a little and move on. Same two teams tomorrow night.
