No call/Travel/PC

A1 gets ball in paint drives to basket contacts B1 who has LGP but not enough contact/displacement to call a PC, but enough to cause pivot foot to return to the floor. I call a travel. As I am blowing whistle A1 extends forearm into the stomach of B1.

Strange play. I was tempted to call a technical foul but was unsure of whether contact was intentional so I passed on it.

hbioteach:

When in doubt: CHARGE!!

But seriously, if you did not have a charging foul by A1 then you had to have a travel by A1, meaning you had to determine if A1's forearm contact was incidental or a technical foul. That is why we are paid the big $'s to officiate.

Sounds to me like the travel was before any foul. Travel was the right call

He knows that the travel was the right call. The point he was making are those tough cases of illegal contact after a violation. MTD reminded us that sometimes the two events can happen to close to one another.
