Weirdest game in a while

Last night had a very high level 8th grade boys game. At the end of Q3, the visitors were up 24-20. In Q4, aliens must have taken over the bodies of the home team because they outscored the visitors 32-2 for a final score of 56-22. They started the quarter with a 21-0 run. My partner and I had to check to see if we fell asleep after Q3 and were now dreaming. The visiting coach had his starters in for most of Q4 but it was if they were playing in slow motion. 18 of the home team points in that quarter came from one kid who shot six 3-pointers and made them all. Those were the only shots he took in Q4.

Oh yeah, for the game, the visitors were 2/15 from the FT line.

The worst part was I didn't have any technicals.

Mark - it's hard to believe you could qualify ANY game as the weirdest in a while......

High quality? 8th grade? Almost sounds like an oxymoron again. Sounds like ONE team was high quality in ONE quarter. My son plays F ball at his HS this yr and I've seen plenty a "high quality" game where the teams avg even more than 7 or 8 points a quarter.

Was that "young gun" in the final quarter called Diebler Jr? Good shooting for sure!

I'm sorry. I meant to say the home team was up at the end of Q3, not the visitors. Good catch.
