New grey shirts
Has anyone heard of a new grey pinstripe shirt with side panels? I've been told they exist, but never seen them. Anyone have a link?

doubtful they're accepted anywhere. the original grey shirt had minimal acceptance...
|
Yeah they grey shirts are cool, if you're somewhat fit. I love 'em, but they just make a big guy look bigger.

Gray Shirts
They can be found on NCAA sites for officials...the rumor had it that the colleges were going to adopt them about 4 years back...but no go...too bad; they are sharp!
This is one link for you: http://www.ump-attire.com/Merchant2/...egory_Code=BSH you can find others... |

"Coz every girl crazy bout a sharp dressed man." (ZZ Top)
When I first got started, back in the later part of the 20th century, IAABO had us wearing a gray jersey, with blue piping, that could be worn with either blue, or black pants.

We were the gray pinstripes in NC.
|
I really wish they would let us wear either the stripes or the grey with pinstripes. Give us a choice like baseball.

Additional colors or patterns are a solution looking for a problem.
Has anyone found a situation in which there is a uniform conflict where the black and white stripe shirt does not provide adequate differentiation between the referee crew and the players? Additional referee uniforms are a style issue. I have been subjected to the ridiculous extent of style vs need in a different sport and am suggesting don't give up the inch if you don't want to eventually pay for the mile. ;) |

The stripes have never looked good on TV, but maybe now that the lighter gray really can't be worn as a uniform, the NCAA might consider adopting it. |

I realize its an area thing, my only point was that having more than one or two shirts isn't THAT unusual.
I wish we'd ditch the flags and go side panel. My SP shirts have a stretch material that help keep my shirt tucked in without various other "tools." |
NCAA Grey's
This year womens NCAA formally said no to NCAA - or that is what was said to us a meeting.
We still wear them for the ORCC but as with Soccer that sets us up for having to carry 3 shirts per game, if the crew isn't communicating, and if there are Flags involved it could get up to six. (I use a glue on flag so I only have to carry the flag and the glue not extra shirts.) I really do not want to carry any more stuff in the bag - so no more shirts. by the way the Big Ten uses the Grays for Wrestling now. and I think they did for one season in mens BB about 10 yrs ago, |
What's Black And White And Read All Over ???
In Connecticut, we have a choice of two shirts. A black and white striped shirt, or a white and black striped shirt. I personally prefer the white and black striped shirt. It accentuates my physique.

I don't think I've seen a HS game with side-paneled refs. The only thing with panels out here are the trailer houses. Then again, I'm out in the boon-docks...:D

Personally, I think the gray looks like you are working the bar at a country club. |
