My question is why would the Rice mascot give an official some grief about a call against the other team? Whooooooo would do such a thing? ;)

Reading about it, the reason for the ejection was the mascot HEADBUTTED the referee...

Maybe owls do that as a sign of affection? Maybe Sammy was just trying to worm his way into Curtis' good graces?

That's Shaw's 3rd ejection this week. :eek:

He was on the St Johns/Cincy game when he tossed 2 players.

Not "over and beak", but "over the beak". Just because you're confused doesn't mean you can just wing it.

I thought you were allowed to have two wings and the ball over the line before a violation.

l would love to be able to say "I ejected a mascot." But I haven't had any games with a mascot present.

I T'eed a coach in a wheelchair though. One of his players called me a meanie. :D:D

When my niece was a student at Rice she was the Sammy the Owl mascot! True story!

I like the tag at the end "Samm the Owl - Ejected". Some one in the production truck/booth was having some fun with that one.

I'm glad the official took care of the eggstracurricular activity on the sideline. Sammy didn't like it, he said, "Owl have to make a formal complaint." He worked so hard to get the job, beating out so many others in the talon competition.

Commentator: You can't let the mascot muscle you. That's my philosophy. :)

Just out of curiosity: how is it that this thread hasn't been locked yet? The last thread about Jurassic lasted about 8 posts.

BTW, this doesn't show up as an ejection for Curtis Shaw on his stat sheet.
