MTD sighting (almost)

While waiting for my partner last night in what passed for our locker room, I saw a note that said "replacement official: Mark T. DeNucci, Jr." and some address info. Figuring MTD Jr must be related to MTD Sr, I was interested in meeting. Turns out it was from another time, but the school principal met both MTD's. Maybe next time our paths will cross. Not likely, though, considering the distance.

You've had a brush with greatness.

Did you keep the note? I'm sure it will be worth money someday.

(I'm still working on the connection with MTD and Kevin Bacon...)

I think you should donate the note to the National Archives.

Hartsy:

I sent you a PM (which is better than a BM, :D). But I digress. ONU had returned to school after Christmas Break on Mon, Jan. 05th, but since BGSU was still on Winter Break he did not have AFROTC on Tue., Jan. 06th. He picked up a boys' JrHS game at Kenton M.S. on SportsOfficialOnline from an official (PM or email for his name, I am sure you know him) who he had officiated a boys' JV the previously; the official couldn't work the JrHS game because of a work commitment. I was open Jan. 06th, and ended up getting a boys' JrHS game at Ada JrHS on SportsOfficialsOnline and we planned on meeting for dinner in Ada after our games. When I got to Ada JrHS, I discovered that the game had been canceled and the officials weren't notified (the school paid us or game fee), so I drove over Kenton to watch Junior officiate. I am sure you know his partner for the game (just PM or email me for that information); that is how I met the Kenton M.S. AD.

MTD, Sr.

P.S. Our paths may pass. If Mark down at Ada, I am looking at getting games in the Lima area so that we can either officiate JV games together or I will be the VAR offical and he will be the JV official. That way I can get his game checks into our (oops! I meant his) checking account quicker, :D.

P.P.S. Do you belong to the Western Ohio Bkb. Off. Assn.? He joined this year but only made one meeting do to class considerations. He is going to join the Lima BSB/SOF Ump. Assn. if you are a baseball umpire.

MTD has reffed games at Toledo Macomber High where
Jim Jackson played HS basketball who played on the 2005 Lakers with
Kobe Bryant who played on the 2003 Lakers with
Gary Payton who was an uncredited "Street Hoops Player" in White Men Can't Jump which starred
Wesley Snipes who was in Brooklyn's Finest with
Ethan Hawke who was in New York, I Love You with..... wait for it.....
KEVIN BACON

And there you have it MTD to Kevin Bacon

You almost have it correct.

I never officiated games at Macomber H.S., BUT, both of my sons attended DeVeaux Jr. H.S. which Jackson also attended (he also played basketball for the Vikings). Andy our younger son ran cross country for the DeVeaux Jr. H.S. Vikings and was vice-president of student government. While Mark, Jr. was attending DeVeaux Jr. H.S. he was one of the editors for a book of the history of DeVeaux Jr. H.S. and I was president of the PTA as well as a member of the Design Committee for the New DeVeaux Jr. H.S.

Andy and Mark, Jr. are both Captains of Caddies at Sylvania C.C. and caddy every year in the "Jamie Farr Owens Corning (my beautiful and itelligent and wonderful mother of my sons is a financial analyist for OC) presented by Krogers LPGA Classic" (honestly, that is the actual name of the tournament) at Highland Meadows G.C. in Sylvania, Ohio, and two years ago, Mark, Jr., caddied for Jim Jackson in one of the pro-ams.

So the circle has been completed.
