Jon Diebler sighting

Buckeyes and Spartans on CBS.

For us "less informed"

Who is John Diebler?

One of the officials I presume. Then the challenge becomes... which one?
I am willing to bet he is wearing black and white.

Ooh, you are oh, so wrong....a cult hero, hoops player from Ohio. Do a search for his name!

John Diebler is a player for Ohio State that actually starts. I believe that he was an All-American as a high school Senior.

There is a running joke about this kid, because several years ago there was a poster that came here talking about Diebler as if he was the next coming. So this board has had a running joke about John Diebler since that time and how great he is, almost in a Tim Tebow kind of way. Mick is just playing into the joke like many of us have.

Peace

Imagine the super powers of a being that is able to drain free throws via satellite. All Hail the Great and powerful Diebler!

zebraman Sun Jan 25, 2009 05:10pm

At the last time-out, Diebler ran into the stands and gave CPR to a fan that had become overly excited. On his way back to the team huddle, he sold two popcorns and an OSU t-shirt, then cleaned up a water spill on the hardwood to avoid a delay of game call against his team. As always, he is amazing.

This was start of the Legend of Jon Diebler...2 years ago.

Too bad that he didn't make them in the basket, they would have counted.

You failed to mention that he was also the color commentator for this game. I am quite impressed.

For what it's worth, Hightower was working this game and sold a traveling call from the Lead position all the way from the endline to well into the lane.

This isn't a criticism mind you, I just found it funny.

Coltdoggs Sun Jan 25, 2009 08:52pm

Is it true when Diebler jumps to dunk or shoot...he's not actully jumping...but rather pushing the court down and bringing the goal down to his desired level?
;)

grunewar Sun Jan 25, 2009 09:26pm

Unconfirmed rumor, but I heard that during halftime, Diebler counted to infinity.....twice!

I heard his coach was upset when he found out the team could not have both infinity and double infinity as uniform numbers. He wanted Diebler to clone himself (Diebler, of course, has developed that technology) and then have both of them play. If it worked out, he'd keep cloning and have a whole team of Dieblers!

I love guys! Keep thinking about me! :D ;) This is so funny to me when I see Johns name!

If they have two Dieblers on the floor they wold be guilty of a double diebler violation. I know it's a stretch.:p

Kinda seriously - with all those Dieblers on the floor, while their three point shooting would be good and their free throw shooting would be excellent, they probably wouldn't get any rebounds.......

Did anyone else notice yesterday they were winning 22-11 and the Coach took John out (we're on a first name basis now) for a rest....and they lost the momentum and never came back? Coincidence? I think not!

There wouldn't be any rebounds on the offensive end of the floor. And all of the violations caused by the intense defense would ensure they were not needed at the defensive end.

If you're going to be on a "first name" basis with Superman, at least spell his name correctly. It's "Jon". In fact, misspelling his name is a Federal crime. You're just lucky they're closing Gitmo!

Don't hold your breath, he gave it a year; by which time Mr. Diebler is sure to convince him of his folly.

Mark, we're so chummy, he allows me to spell it any way I like!

It sure looks like you compared Diebler unfavorably to Tim Tebow. You may want to issue a public apology to him now; probably even want to sacrifice a live chicken.

Only if M&M goes and whines to the bosses.

Mark Padgett Mon Jan 26, 2009 02:16pm

Did you guys hear what "Da Dieb" did at halftime? He participated in an UFC match and kicked Chuck Norris' a$$ and Dick Butkus' a$$ AT THE SAME TIME!!! He then went out and sold some more popcorn.

M&M Guy Mon Jan 26, 2009 03:36pm

Hey! How the hell did I get dragged into this? And who's comparing me to a goat?!?

I would never complain to the bosses, unless someone's trying to take the name of Diebler in vain.

I don't believe this. Diebler would never be susceptible to something as lowly as Kryptonite.
