Question about foul during try

Question on what seems like a simple play, but I cannot find a case play, or a rule to clarify.

A1 tries for a goal. While the ball is in flight, A2 fouls B1. The ball goes in. Do we count the goal? I am looking at Rule 6-7 and the exceptions. The ball does not become dead until a try or tap ends when a foul, other than play or team control, occurs (exception A). Since no team is in control during a try, I count the goal and award B1 free throws (in bonus situatoin). My partner said (after the game) that we should not have counted the goal.

Sorry if this is a really silly question or if I am overlooking an obvious rule. I'm a new guy trying to learn.... Thanks

You are correct.

This play ruling is for a FT, not a FG, but the concept is the same.

6.7 SITUATION B: After A1 starts the free-throwing motion, A2 commits a foul
by pushing B1 along the lane. RULING: If the foul occurred after the ball was in
flight, the point counts if the throw was successful and no substitute throw is
awarded if not successful. If A1 had not released the free-throw attempt before
A2 fouled B1, the ball became dead when the team-control foul occurred and A1
is permitted an unhindered free throw. The foul by A2 results in the ball being
awarded to Team B at the out-of-bounds spot nearest to where A2 fouled B1,
unless the free-throw attempt by A1 is successful in which case B will throw-in
from out of bounds anywhere along the end line where the free throw was scored.
(4-19-7, 9; 7-5-7)

Right answer, right reason. Keep up the good work!

Is this a false double foul?

Meaning, each foul carries it own peantly.

If the case book sitch occured during the first of 2 FT, would the shooter get his 2nd FT with the lane cleared and then B would get the ball on the endline (spot if FT missed, running if FT made)?
