Marquette/Providence
Did anyone see this game and the fan that walked out onto the court to confront an official right before a free throw?
I guess there was a no-call that resulted in a player having to leave due to a cut(?). I guess this player's third or fourth cousin didn't like it and came out onto the court to talk to the official getting ready to administer a free throw. He was sitting right behind their bench and stepped over the chairs and came onto the floor. I hope this man learned a valuable lesson this evening in jail. |

I did see the play right after the incident happen. And the play in question was not at all dirty or malicious in any way. It was clearly an unfortunate accident.
Wierd is right. Peace

![]() Blue 21 does catch the offensive player in the head with his left forearm or elbow as he is raising his arms up to defend the shot attempt. It is the arm with the compression sleeve on it that makes the contact. |

I saw the play live. The defender brought his hand up and clipped the shooter in the eye. The foul was called, and a sub shot the FT's.
The brother was on the court during the first FT, which was good, and the officials counted it. I suppose it would have been "disconcerting" had the thrower missed. The C official must have seen him come onto the court, and I was surprised that he didn't suspend play. It was a little weird. Marquette took their players off the court while security removed the fan. I think the officials handled the entire situation exactly right.

Quite honestly, the reaction of the player as he left the floor wasn't much better. it was a freak accident. Evidently, it's a family of hot heads.

I saw the play on YouTube. The foul was NOT called (I'm not sure there was a foul on the contact in question) but a Providence teammate picked up the loose ball and was fouled in the act of shooting.
