Partner called me a "geezer"

I won't discuss my partner from my first game last night (Juulie knows why) but in my second game, I worked with a young kid (probably about 21 or 22) who is in just his second year of working only rec games. He did an excellent job. His mechanics and positioning were terrific and he used "advantage/disadvantage" as well as a lot of veterans. He made not even a single mistake on rules interpretations. He said he was going to look into joining an official's association next year. He lives kind of between two of them, so he's going to "check them both out". Whichever one gets him will be lucky.

After the game, I told him what a good job he did. He said that meant a lot coming from "an old geezer like me". As he said it he laughed and patted me on the shoulder. Obviously, it was a joke. I told him, "Hey, watch it, you young whippersnapper". He looked confused.

Insert "old man" voice here...

"Back in your day, you used to have a jump ball after every basket. That's just the way it was and you liked it"

(Poor rip off of an old SNL skit) :D

whippersnapper is one of my favorite words. I use it in reverse sometimes calling my dad or uncles it.

Some people say I'm thinking out my a$$ most of the time anyway.

Some of the voices in my head speak to me in Esperanto. One even speaks Latin. Cool.

Beings that I am a dad (and a granddad :D), just getting out of bed in the morning qualifies as "something athletic" for me....

At my age, the only thing Viagra is good for is to keep me from rolling out of bed.
