Hard cast on hand - but not what you think

Last night my partner shows up with a hard cast on his right hand. It was just strange seeing him making all his calls using his left hand. The funniest thing were his traveling calls. He would put his right arm out in front on his chest then rotate his left arm around it. Even he thought it was goofy looking.

Worked with a guy (1st time) last season who had his arm in a sling. I thought it would be a tough night, but we worked well together.

Friend of mine worked a State Final game with a cast on his left wrist. He had also done my son's 8th Grade County Championship game a week or two earlier. It worked out well. It was interesting to see him bounce the ball with his cast hand.

About 10 years ago I broke my ring finger on my left hand playing a game of football on Thankgiving Day. Did most of December with a splint on the finger. Didn't heal, so the day after Chirstmas I had 5 pins in it. Next day I did a game, hand all wrapped up... I know I looked funny but the game went well.

The guy in a sling cracks me up, not sure how one could run too quickly when one was in a sling.

What a bunch of wooses

I recall a story in Referee Mag a couple of years ago about a Ref who fell and broke both her wrists during the game and finished the game before going to hospital.

I believe there was about half the game to play!

That's only because she didn't break a nail, too. :p
