Might have "Kicked" the call

Boys F game last night... A1 dribbling and just crosses mid court and dribbles ball while taking a stride - ball hits foot as foot moving forward and rolls towards the end line. I blow and call kick -

1. Can there be offensive kicking violation?
2. The rule book says any player deemed to have intentionally kick the ball can be called
3. Have you ever called offensive kick?

A kicking violation must be an intentional act, can be by the offense or defense.

I agree, and in this case it doesn't seem this was intentional.

Here is an example of a potential offensive kicking violation that happened in a game I worked last night. We didn't call this, but in hindsight I think it probably should have been. It comes down to the definition of "striking", which is what the rule prohibits.

Here's the situation. Team has the ball and is passing it around the perimeter. Player from team A doesn't catch the pass cleanly and deflects the ball away. It is rolling on the forward toward the sideline and headed out of bounds, with the girl that should have caught the pass in pursuit. She realizes she is not going to be able to pick the ball up before it goes out of bounds, so she executes a perfect soccer move and steps on top of the ball stopping it dead on the floor a few inches short of the sideline, where she picks the ball up, passes back to the point guard and they reset the offense.

Has a kicking violation been committed?

Thanks. I must have missed this one. My initial reaction when I saw this happen last night was that stepping on does not equal striking, so I let it go. After we discussed it as a crew and I thought about it some more, I now believe the intent of the rule is that the foot can't be used to gain an advantage by controlling the ball, and I should have called the violation. From reading this thread, that seems to be the consensus here also.

hate to do this but you "Kicked it"
your description does not seem to have the necessary reqirement of "intentional" in it .

I can not see where you could have the dribbler called for kicking the ball but I can see it happening by another player trying to keep an errant pass inbounds or from being stolen

3. Have you ever called offensive kick?:
I can not recall ever having made this call.

Yes. Boys recreation league game. Loose ball on the floor. Player kicks the ball forward to a wide open teammate on a fast break. The kicker was an all-conference soccer player.
