A really fun JV girls game

I had a JV girls game with exactly one double dribble, two travels, two jump balls (none in the first half), and less than 25 fouls total. Visitors shot bonus free throws in the first half, and home shot bonus free throws in the 2nd half.

Not the best athletes in the world, and one team had only 6 girls (they ran out of gas late and lost by around 8), but they were well coached and very disciplined. It was a fun game to work.

Don't forget the ever popular "highly competitive."

PS - I wasn't sure where to put the (.) so I put it inside the quotes!

Um, so where does the sentence, "Don't forget..." end? I thought Lord Byron would say the period would go outside the quotation marks, since there is no sentence inside the quotation marks?

From what I remember from English 101 you're correct (but I'm not an English major, so I may be wrong).

I also had a really fun Freshmen game between two good teams. After a string of really boring games it was really refreshing to have a good one. I had a couple of varsity game duds and I will take a fun lower level game anyday. Crowd was triple that of the JV game which was before. Little chirping by the coaches and players from both sides told us good game while we were leaving the floor. Funny moment was the coaches making a couple good natured cracks at each other during the game. And a couple of kids doing clock for the first time but they did a great job. It is kind of risky using kids but most of the time they seem to do well and better than teens and some adults.

Everyone has a first time. If they come back for a second time, then it is probably the makings of a good timer down the road.

Well, I had a 7th grade girls game last night with exactly one double dribble, two travels, and two jump balls - in the first three minutes!

One girl in the lane about five feet from the basket took a shot (I think it was a shot) but it went straight up in the air. That was a first for me.

OK, when I saw that I almost laughed....but, that's a different thread.

Another gal's hands were so small, (Insert Ed McMann - "How small were they?") there was a violation and I needed the ball to inbound it. She picked it up at center court and attempted to throw it to me along the sideline via a baseball pass and missed me by 20 feet and scattered the players on her own bench!

Long night and horrible game(s) to return to after the holiday break.
