foul during throw in
 

team A has a spot throw in near mid court. A2 sets an illegal screen for A3 before the ball is thrown in bounds. the foul make it the 7th foul for team A , does B shot the 1 and 1? i was wondering if we have team possession if the ball is not thrown in yet.

Yes, no t/c on throw-ins (jump ball & try) so 1 & 1 is correct.

There is no team control during a throw-in, so yes, the 1+1 (or automatic bonus) situation does come into play. The B player that A2 fouled will shoot the fouls shots.

Fed ruling correct,
NCAA ruling there is team control during a Throwing and there will be no bonus free throws because of team control.

P.S. Got your PM and email. Thanks. I have met Ed at previous IAABO Fall Intepreters' Meetings. I have emailed him in the past and he was prompt in getting back to me. I remember the days when I could pick up the phone and call Hank Nichols or the late Dick Schindler (and have met him at IAABO Fall Intepreters' Meetings also) and get at ruling from them right then and there. The would take the time to discuss the rule.
