It's still dead unless it's in the air on a try. The applicable rule is 6-7-7. All of the exceptions listed involve a tap or try for goal.
Think about this play.
A1 throws a long pass to A2 streaking down the court, and the ball bounces high from about the three point line. Just after it bounces, the official calls a foul on B3 who is attempting to guard A2. After the whistle, the ball, which was in the air following the bounce, goes through the basket.
These plays may seem completely different, but as far as the rules are concerned, they are identical.
