Exclamation OSU snaps 21 game streak - and it's a good thing

Oregon State beat USC last night 62-58 in OT, ending a 21 game conference losing streak (23 games including conference tournament defeats). At the end of the game, the fans at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis were chanting, "Just like football." Junior center Roeland Schaftenaar of the Beavers hit a 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds left in regulation to send the game into OT. OSU had trailed by as many as 15 in the second half and trailed by three in the OT. The Beavers are now 6-6 (1-1 conference) on the season for first year coach Craig Robinson, who is Barak Obama's brother-in-law.

Maybe the best part is that the Los Angeles Times story Sunday morning (the day of the game) described Oregon State as a "gimme" and a "speed bump" for the Trojans and described the Beavers as "Bad with a capital B". Who writes this stuff, Lou Grant?

Maybe the Trojans shouldn't have started Sarah Palin at point guard. She's not a good team player, but too much of a maverick.

MTD Sr. will open this thread thinking it has something to do with Ohio State. He will be heartbroken.

OK, for MTD - did everyone else see that our favorite Buckeye Mr. DIEBLER scored a career high 27 points the other day? How about that?

Thanks for posting, gave me a chance to look up something I meaning to look up for a while.

This assistant with the Beavers was stationed with me in Sicily back in 1989. I ran into him in Phoenix in the late 90's and he told me he was getting into coaching. I wasn't even thinking about officiating at that time. Good to see one of my old buddies make it big.

That's not fair to man of his, uh, well, chronological stature.
