NEO, What conference is it? I live in Lakewood and will go as far as Painseville east, Akron/Medina South and Vermillion West for varsity. I won't go past Mentor east, Patriot Conference/ West Shore Conference west or Northern Summit or Medina County for a JV game

Northern Ohio League. Currently I work the Southwest Conf, West shore conf, and Patriot Conf.
To respnd to a earlier post, no we dont get mileage. And will it help advance my career in officiating? I would like to say yes for exposure. But thats what camps are made for. My family and work will let me work these type of games. It would probably make more sense to try to get into the Northeast Ohio conf or the North coast league.

If you can get into that conference doing Varsity, I would consider it. If its just JV, you have to decide whether or not it will be a fast track to varsity assignments. Upper Sandusky and Galion are considering leaving that conference. While they are the two furthest outliers, there's no telling how the NOC would replace them. I gotta say, the thought of driving 90 minutes after a varsity contest isn't very appealing to me. Let alone, putting 150 miles (round trip) on my car for approx $60 isn't appealing either.

Although we work in the same conferences, we aren't scheduled together this year unless you are doing a JV game in froont of one of my varsity games. If I see you, let me know what you decide. I was offered a chance to referee in the Sandusky Bay conference and passed on it. I didn't want to drive that far.

I mostly work j.v , with a sprinkle of m.s if im not scheduled to work j.v. Hopefully we will run into each other. As a matter a fact I need one more evaluation for my 2 to 1.

Thanks for all the input. After thinking about the whole situation. I will try to get into conferences that are in the Cleveland area. Ignatz knows that most of my games are of 90.So I will do my games in the N.O.L and try to get some games closer. Getting Varsity games is not as important as getting the call right.Or the drive.

206 miles R/T for one Varsity Girls game this season. About $140 for the game with mileage. Not what I want to do each night, but I did for one night. I know guys out in W. Texas that will drive around 200-300 miles R/T 2-3 nights/week. It's up to you.
