Never Had this Before...

Hope I never have it again. I had a boys varsity game the other night. All went well, very good game with the home team winning by 1. The visting team team missed a shot at the buzzer The next night the visiting coach an older guy in his mid 60's who has coached at the school for years as well at 2 d1 programs in his career died of a heart attack.

May God have mercy on his soul.

I hope my officiating didn't play a part in it.

I think your entire post is a poor choice of words.

Wasn't meant to be, it was a very shocking experience. I never thought in a million years that I would ever have to experience that. And I pray that I won't have to ever again, it really shook me up. He was an excellent coach and someone I respected very much and enjoyed reffing his games. He will be missed immensely.

No it's not...the last line - maybe. But not the entire post.

Agreed. You guys (not Rocky) were entirely to rough on the OP.

You missed the heart attack pun that was thrown in before.

No, I saw it; and that was, to me, the only poorly worded part. No way the whole post was "a poor choice of words," a comment to which you expressed agreement.

You assume it was a pun. Heart-breaking loss is quite often used to refer to close game results...do you always assume the worst of people? Or just of other officials?

I have to agree, there was a little over-reaction here. Maybe a bad choice of words, but it appears he did not do so to make a malicious joke. Well it is not the first time we over-react to something here. ;)

Peace

Probably not the last time, either. ;);)
