Part II Test questions

I AM NOT LOOKING FOR THE ANSWERS!

I am looking for the rule references for the following questions:

24
29
41
44
58
62
76

I believe that I have the correct answers for all for these questions, but I need the rulebook (or casebook) reference to back them up.

Thanks.

24 4-27-2
29 9.1.2 SIT. B
41 4-22, 9-12 (curiously the penalty on 11 & 12 does not say the ball is dead), 6-7-9
44 6-7-7 Exception a, 4-19-7, 4-12-3-a
58 4-6-1, 5-2-4, 9-11 Pen. 2
62 Must be inferred from the lack of any rule stating the sub must remain in the game for any length of time
76 5-11-2

I believe that I have the correct answers for all fo these questions, but I need the rulebook (or casebook) reference to back them up.

Thanks.
I've listed references above.

Thanks Ray. Are you going to be in Richfield next weekend? I'm doing one game on Fri and one on Sat and have a game in Grand Junction as well.

#41--ball is on its UPWARD flight outside the cylinder...goaltending can only occur on DOWNWARD flight of the ball..this is my problem with the rule references you listed.

Any thoughts?

Remember....this is a "free throw" situation. 4.22

Exactly.

NFHS 4-22 "Goaltending occurs when a player touches the ball during a field-goal try or tap while it is in its downward flight entirely above the basket ring level and has the possibility of entering the basket in flight, or an opponent of the free thrower touches the ball outside the cylinder during a free-throw attempt."

It might be more clear if they broke the free throw into it's own article.

As far as I know, I haven't been invited to Richfield this year. I'll be at Salem Hills on Friday and a freshman tourney on Saturday. What game are you doing in Grand Junction?

See the comment in case book for rule 9 under types of violations. It definitively states that the ball is dead when goaltending occurs.
