College question - RE: Slapping backboard

Those of you who work college ball....are the rules regarding slapping the backboard while the ball is near....on rim....in imaginary cylinder....ball in cylinder.....whatever status.....is it treated like NFHS rules? If not explain differences.

Thanks!

No difference except if you call a 'T' it's a Class B in NCAA-M and doesn't count towards the Team Fouls nor Personal Fouls.

That's for NCAAM. For NCAAW, the rule is the same as FED (direct T on the player; counts toward all totals)

Only in NCAA Men's...in NCAA Women's it is a Player/Substitute T and does count toward Team and Personal Fouls.

Once again, Bob is quicker than me. Hope we're never in a situation where a hungry bear is chasing us - I think we know which one of us will end up as dinner.
