Disconcertion?

I’ve noticed in a couple of games this year that during free throws, the defenders would hold there hands up and out in the usual way, but also start wiggling their fingers. The first time they do it, I simply tell them to quit doing that because it’s disconcertion. I know it’s not much activity, but still didn’t seem appropriate. What do you guys think?

I've been told to be preventative, and then ding them if they do it again.

Girls do it routinely around here without it being called. It's not much of a disconsertion IMHO.

Not as poor as the coach who is sitting on the bench and when the thrower gets ready to release the ball yells "Who's got shooter?"

I've called that one. Shooter takes a first shot with nobody saying anything. Then the second shot comes and just as the release comes, "I got shooter". Ya right.

"Guys - you can put your hands up but you can't wiggle your fingers." What other reason could they possibly have for doing that other than trying to disconcert the shooter? I don't let them wave or shake their hands, either.

Putting the hands up with, or without, figgling wingers are meant to distract, but are not necessarily meant to disconcert, that's yer call.
