Arrow The new rule books are here! The new rule books are here!

NF, that is. And - they're burple (the case book is a really ugly lime green). There's two pictures on the cover, one showing a boys team and one showing girls but the girls picture apparently was taken in a college gym - the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, according to the lettering on a chair in the background. Anybody know why? Do HS teams routinely play there? Perhaps a tournament game?

Stop When The Red Lights Flash ...

Our 2008-09 85th Anniversary IAABO Basketball Handbook, which includes the NFHS Rulebook and Casebook, is an ugly "Taxicab/Schoolbus" yellow color.

Also, if anyone is interested in seeing a video presentation of the 2008-09 NFHS rule changes, I suggest that you go to the IAABO home page. Here's the link:

It is probably from the Maryland State tournament as that is the girls site. The boys play at the University of Maryland's Comcast Center. It was seen on the 2006-07 Rules Book with Al Battista in the background of the Pocomoke/Dunbar game.

I guess ever since Morgan Wooten of DeMatha retired in 2003, Dunbar hasn't had the same competition. Wooten's zone press and offense against the zone are legendary. When I coached AAU, we used his press to win many ballgames. The guy was a genius.

I don't get my books until next Monday.

Question - I ordered and am reading the 2008/9 HS Basketball Rules by Topic. I really like the way it's simplistically and methodically structured and presented with the Rules and Case plays together. Does anyone know if this Book (296 pgs) is a comprehensive, compilation of the Rule and Case Books or are there areas missed where I would need to read the Rule and Case Book anyhow? Thanks.

The yellow must be an IAABO Editorial difference.

I'm certain it's not NFHS approved.
