FYI - Consumer Reports rate it and other 700 Series Nuvi's (760, 770, 780) very highly and I've researched the price and that is VERY good. I don't personally own one though (I have a Nuvi 200 which I like).

That is a good price. I am not sure how good it is. I think most of the things you need is the ability to get from A to B. You will have to pay for specific features that might help you like traffic updates or POI information. This seems like a nice deal. It is just a matter if you do not mind to spend for those better features. Which I could make the case are not worth it.

The bluetooth calling option is very very cool. I used it this summer during a trip to the east coast.
Side note: I still can't figure out. Rut, is it a good deal, you're not sure if it's a good deal, or is it a nice deal?

I paid about $440-$450 over a year ago for my GPS device. It was worth it for me and has paid itself in so many ways. Now the same features I have would cost almost half of that today. Knowing what I know now, I would likely pay a little more than this if I was serious about getting a GPS system. Then again I would rather pay a little more for quality, and then buy something that will not be as valuable in a few years. I do not know enough about the features of this system to comment if that is ultimately a good deal. I would ask about features and other things before spending any money on anything. Then you at least know what you are not paying for. Peace

I certainly could have used one yesterday when I drove to a ref clinic in the rural Oregon town of Molalla. I knew I was getting close when I saw the "Caution - Cow Crossing" signs. I actually went down a dirt road that had a speed bump. Now that's rural!

Are you sure the speed bump wasn't one of those cows that was lying down?
