"Who knows what evil lurks in the mind of man?The Shadow knows!!"----Lamont Cranston(aka-The Shadow).
I guess I am young as dirt. What is radio? :)

Believe it or not, Rut, I used to work in radio. No, not in a radio, but at a radio station. I did news and sports. I did play by play of HS football and basketball, college basketball and hockey plus semi-pro baseball. It was incredible. I don't think there is a more fun job in all the world, except for my present job as a creamed-corn wrestling promoter. :p

Although I never heard The Shadow live on radio, I used to own some audio tapes of old radio shows and had a few of those. Cranston had the power to "cloud men's minds" and have them do his bidding - kind of like Obiwan Kenobe.

I gave most of the tapes to the local library, but gave the Superman and Batman show tapes to my grandson, Tyler. He listens to them in bed at night before he goes to sleep. He says they are "way cool." He is seven and will someday play in the NBA. He has played organized basketball since he was five and can already dribble behind his back. On his team's picture sportscards, he lists his position as "power forward."

BTW - years ago, I invested in a new invention - color radio. It did about as well as my dacron farm and my Big and Tall men's shop in downtown Tokyo. ;)

If you want to hear one,Mark, check out http://www.otrcat.com.They have all kinds of old radio shows for sale, including Superman. You get a sample of each one to listen to,including the Shadow.

Yup,Dan,they got the Stooges too.You being a Yankee fan, check out the Babe Ruth show and Sports Broadcasts also. They've got a 1934 Yankees' game you can listen to.

I don't know if that link works. If not, just type it in.

I will be attending Harry Bohn and Tom O'Neil's "Chicagoland Basketball Officials Camp." Harry Bohn is a D3 College assignor and Tom O'Neil assigns aHS conference in the southern suburbs of the Chicago area.

Other than that I will be attending some Chicago area camps that deal mainly with HS ball.

Do not see the need to dish out the big cash and fly all over the country to do a camp yet. Maybe in the next few years, but not right now.

Peace

Rut,

I will also be attending Harry Bohn's camp as well as Wes Fritz's and Ed Curtin's camps. We'll have to look for each other on the 21st at the meeting....
