A1 is at the free throw line about to take the second of two free throws. As he is about to shoot, B1 commits an act of disconcertion by shooting his arms in the air and clapping his hands over his head. A1's free throw his nothing but air. Double violation? Does the disconcertion supercede the violation by the free thrower?

No,it's not a double violation.You only penalise the disconcertion.It's spelled out in R9-1PENALTY3---"In penalty item(3),if a violation by the free thrower follows disconcertion,a substitute free throw will be awarded".Btw,if the disconcertion is by a bench player,can you still call it,or do you handle it differently?

Coach disconcerting shooter
 
We had a game this winter in which a coach kept yelling rebound right when our player was starting her FT release. This was 1st half when we are shooting at his end of the court. It visibly disconcerted a couple of shooters, and the refs called it the 3rd time he pulled this trick. Thoughts?

Sounds about right. Kinda sucks for you but if I don't
know the guy I'll tend to give hm the benefit. The first
time might be "inadvertent", the second time you've got a
pattern and the 3rd time you're waiting. This is varsity,
right? If so I think I would have had a word with the
coach after the second time, if it was lower I would have
said something sooner.

This should have been nipped in the bud the very first time it happened. If the free throw attempt was missed, ring up a disconcertion violation.

This was 7th grade travel league, coach, fans and players on this team are all real gems. Refs struggled a bit with this group, but they did try their best to handle things. Worst instance was actually late in the game, we have lead and ball, coach calls for a foul and his player comes out and delivers a double forearm to the head of my 2 guard, who is seriously hurt and unable to continue (and held out of school next day with a concussion). Called an intentional, sure looked like a flagrant, and should have had a talk with the coach at that point too. But I guess this is all another thread!
