NBA Changes Referee Operations After Seeking Disgraced Official's Phone Records
Buried in the middle is a reference that the league is trying to obtain the phone records that have been discussed here recently. Could be pending discipline even without any court procedings. Edited to add this link: NBA gives Fryer, Borgia new referee positions From Foxsports.com |
My guess is if they want to know about calls between Foster and Donaghy, all they have to do is tell Foster to bring them in.

Forum Member "Implicated" ???
I hope the league doesn't find out that, according to cell phone records, jkjenning talked to Tim Donaghy over 130 times during last season? I think that I read that on an Official Forum Basketball thread.

That's a fair sentence.
Even after he gets out his life is still ruined and he won't be able to do the thing he loves. |
Wow - 15 months? That's all?
I wonder if thats in a Disneyland prison or the real deal. NBA restitution only 200,000.00... so he gets to keep all the other bread that he made! Sure his career is over, but if he parlays his money correctly he could be set even after the divorce. Who said crime doesn't pay  |
15 months is a pretty harsh sentence. What would you suggest? He didn't commit murder.

He did not make my job tougher.

Ok JRut allow me to re-phrase.
His actions fueled the perception some people already had about officials - that we cheat. It does have some sort of validity to it now, wouldn't you say? I'm sure the bad apples (who get caught) in the NYPD makes the jobs of other police officers a little tougher because perception is now reality. |

I don't think he has made my job tougher. I haven't heard any Donaghy jokes out on the court.
What he is going to regret most is becoming someone's girlfriend. |
I guess I say his actions makes the job tougher for personal reasons. Only a few short months ago, I was struck in the face by a coach that I had to toss because he said "I am cheating his kids".

Now I hope you filed charges despite the fact that you are "just an official." No one deserves that at all no matter what your profession is. Peace |
You're absolutely right, but you know how people tend to view things differently once it happens to them.
I did press charges. No need to feel bad for me or what happened though, I took it like a champ :D Plus he really assisted in increasing my stock as an official who remains under control at all times. |

This is clearly unfortunate and I am not trying to make light of this incident. Peace |
