#2 - Ok, maybe it's a wording issue between "scoring" and "awarding", but I would answer this both Yes and No. Defensive BI will award the points, offensive BI will not award the points.

#8 - I answered the question, "By the official watching to see if the ball has left the shooter's hand before the end of the period." I now see the intent of the question.

#9 - I've never been prepared to verify that particular rule. I can see the questions now: "Hey, ref, is that a yardstick in your pocket, or are you just happy to be here?"

In real life it would take about 2 hours to get through a 10-question Q&A session with Al Battista.

Here's my one question rules quiz:

1) A coach makes a smart-a$$ remark directly to you. What should you do?

a) puke on his shoes
b) stare at his pants
c) make an insulting remark about his wife
d) issue a flagrant technical foul and eject him
e) report him to your cousin, Tony Soprano
g) all of the above

Correct answer: "g" - you can decide on the order yourself, however you probably want to save "e" for last or you might not have the chance to do any of the others.

There's a name that I haven't heard in years. He helped me when I was just starting out. Any wonder that I am also a rules guy? :)

I hope that he is doing well.
