Exciting NBA playoffs - not!

Here's how exciting the NBA playoffs are to me. Instead of watching the Mavs - Hornets game at 4:00 Pacific on ESPN, I'm going to watch the White Sox - Rays game on WGN.

Go Sox.

JRutledge Sat Apr 19, 2008 11:42am

Neither is worth watching.

Peace

Rut - don't tell me you're a Cub fan. I thought you were better than that.

Please do not insult me. I am a Cardinal fan; we actually win World Series Titles (better yet at least go to them). I have lost a lot of love for MLB. It is unwatchable, too long and boring. And I am a person that umpires baseball and have done so for 13 years. And it does not help it is April and these games mean nothing right now.

Peace

Hey!!!! Go Sox!

Funny, I thought a game in April counts the same as a game in August? Greatest game going.

And because I am a strong supporter of diversity in my professional & personal life I'll add that this is true for the fans of all colors of Sox.

Hey - who says that? The last people you want to pi$$ off are those from the South Side of Chicago. Just ask those poor unfortunates who didn't survive Valentine's Day. :D

"In the heat of a summer night
In the land of the dollar bill
When the town of Chicago died
And they talk about it still
When a man named Al Capone
Tried to make that town his own
And he called his gang to war
With the forces of the law"

I guess that Paper Lace didn't realize that Valentine's Day comes in the winter "back in the U.S.A., back in the bad ol' days".

Wizards vs Cavs.......4th Qtr.

Caron Butler gets called for an "obvious" travel.......a few seconds later Lebron is going to the bucket......and my WIFE says, oh, how come THAT'S not a travel? I said, "honey, because THAT'S Lebron."

I met my girlfriend on the South Side, so I know what you mean. If I can handle her, I can handle the rest. :D

Yeah, those South Side girls are really something. My first girlfriend was named Marla Marks. She told me that if we ever got married, I should change my last name to hers, so then I'd be Mark Marks. Fortunately for me (and mostly for her), we broke up. I wonder what ever happened to her.

Here's more off topic boring nonsense. I worked in a company's marketing department with two other guys named Mark. We would answer the phone "mark mark mark marketing - Mark speaking". It was like a 3 Stooges routine (I didn't want to say "Marx brothers"). :p

I've always maintained that the microwave oven is one of the greatest inventions ever - second only to duct tape. :)

Now, they'd have something, if they could invent a microwave that doesn't make the food taste like it was duct taped. ;)

Here's some more off topic prattle. :) When microwave ovens first came onto the market, I was working for Wards and I sold them. There actually were some people who thought they were a hoax and that our demonstrations were "rigged". In fact, I had one couple that swore we were "doing black magic" and that we "would be punished for doing Satan's work"!

They sold pretty well, though.

That may be the funniest thing I have heard all day. That would have took a lot of explaining to "prove" there was no "magic."

My microwave oven stopped working recently. Do you know where I can get the black magic refilled?

I am a Habs fan. It's better than following the Toronto Maple Laughs.

However, I will acknowledge that when the Leafs do win the Cup next, it will be the biggest party that North America has ever seen. I can guarantee that.

Arrests, looting, and cars on fire last night. What if the Habs had lost? http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/tr...smiley-026.gif

I saw a more in depth account of the events not even an hour ago on CBC Newsworld. I'm rather ashamed, actually. Canadians are much more mature than all that looting, etc. Of the 16 people arrested, the oldest was 24, so it does seem that it was a case of immature young men thinking that it was something to win the first series in 7 games.

I hope that they jail the most severe offenders, even if only for a few days. It will show that the public can't react as they did, even in June!
