Final four trivia

My favorite trivia question that rarely gets answered correctly.

Obviously I walk among giants here with sports knowledge, so I'm sure within 3-4 posts it will be nailed.

Only Heisman trophy winner to play for a final four team.

Did you know that or google it?

When I give the answer, most people go "who was that"?

Funny story, years ago, I ask some friends the question in a Chicago saloon and there's silence while everyone's thinking......I give a hint......Pac 10....one guy says "that guy over in the corner" It was Gary Beban, the Heisman winner from UCLA who is an investment banker in Chicago. I almost dropped my Guinness.

Pretty much everyone here in Oregon who is "into" sports knows that. For everyone else, it's a pretty good question, though.

Your other thread mentioning the Oregonian prompted me to post that. I would imagine he was the big fish in little pond back in the day.

Well, I feel better that you had to google it.

Saw an article on a silicon valley company that doesn't allow laptops at meetings........to distracting and insular. I tend to agree. I'd rather doze off.

I suppose it's not quite the same type of trivia, but the one "trivial" thing that I noticed this year is that the men's teams were all predominantly blue or white school colors, and none of the women's teams were.

Yup, trivial.

Gee, I don't know. "So boring that I'm googling on the only Heisman winner to play in the final four" is a pretty good description!!
