Zelton Steed posted on the forum here for a little while, and helped me out while I was trying to get into the Big South. Glad to see him moving on.

My man, Reggie!!! Hope he makes it back to the Final Four this year. Couldn't be happier for him!

Chuck, isn't it time you switched to the caffeine free diet coke? Really...

btw... I'm looking for that thread from last year about the slippery ncaa logos on the courts... can you look in your files and let me know where it is?

I also met Zelton last year when he worked the Big Ten Tournament last year. I was fortunate to get a pass from him as a result of another poster here and was able to sit with officials and their families all weekend. It was a great time meeting that official. I am also glad to see him advance.

Peace

And look at that, the guy who ejected Seton Hall's coach and T'd up John Calhoun made it to the tournament. Guess he isn't so incompetent after all?!?

I was surprised to see Rutecki make the tournament because his only conference tournament assignment was a Patriot League quarter-final.

He works games in several (Big East, A10, MAAC, NEC, Patriot and Ivy) conferences. He obviously received consistantly good ratings from his assignors or he would not have been selected.

My Good Friend, Bob Cousy ...

As a teenager, I once met Bob Cousy. He was at our local Bradlees department store making an appearence to drum up business for his Bob Cousy sneakers. I wore his Mr. Basketball sneakers until I upgraded to Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars.

It was a quarterfinal when he was rather inconsistent, but not as terrible as I've seen him perform before. It was one of the better games I saw him have this year, but I also saw him have one absolutely terrible game in terms of performance and game management.

In case you're wondering how I know this, I go to one of the schools in that PL quarter he worked, and was at every home game this year.

I've read Earl Strom's book. Does that count?

Who cares?

I watch basketball on TV. Does that make me qualified to rip the officiating?
