Had to throw this in. Remember - the first ever NCAA men's basketball tournament was won by the University of Oregon. The team that year (1939) was nicknamed by the press as the "Tall Firs". Of course, they haven't won since.

Want a lesson in frustration? Check this year's W-L records of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (mens) and Fordham University (womens).

I read that this was NJIT's first year as a D1 school. I wonder if they're going to stay at that level.
