Since Referee Magazine seems to be the topic of conversation: I asked a question a while back (which I did not know the answer to) that if the Official Scorebook is removed form the scores table at halftime, what's the penality, if any. See Referee Magazine, Page 22, Caseplays.

I had that happen once. Boys freshman game and during the second quarter I notice there are only two people at the table instead of three. Come to find out the young lady doing the home book had decided that the game had a better view sitting by her boyfriend and doing the book from his side. Needless to say, we politely found a different scorekeeper and returned the book to the table. It goes to show that you just never know what is going to happen.

another thing about that issue
In the article about Sally Bell, I had to disagree with rhe line that said she looked much younger than her 48 years in her striped shirt and pony tail. At least from the pictures I saw.

Now just a minute, even though I am married to a beautiful (no, I really mean it) woman, Sally is a personal friend, and those pictures did not do her justice. Sally is both a wonderful person and a lovely lady. But good looks do not make a good basketball official, I am a case in point.

When I am officiating a boys' game and the players stop hustling out of huddles or to the free throw lane for free throws I tell them that since they are young, good lucking, and still have their hair, they cannot stop hustling. I then tell them that I get go walk to the free throw lane because I one of those three items left: my good looks!! So yes I am good looking.

Logic teaser at Mark D's expense
Mark, you said "looks do not make a good official. I am a case in point." Then you added, that you still have your good looks.
Anyone want to write the short symbolic propositional proof which shows that it Mark may still be a good official? jb |

I thought that sally bell article was good! I think it will inspire a lot of young female officials out there, to take the next step. And, that's cool!
