WCC MEN'S Tournament

In the WCC Men's Tourney right now on ESPN 2, The alternate official was called in. Dave Libbey went out, what they said was a torn calf muscle. Hope he is alright and will be able to run in the NCAA's.

Same thing happened in the Womens SEC Tournament yesterday. Joe Cunningham went out with an injury to the calf muscle (the announcers later said it was a recurring injury).

I hope he is alright. He is one of the most technically sound officials in the country. To hear him talk about 3-man mechanics is priceless.

Dave is one of the best. Got to see him up close from my prime seat in Eugene for many years.
Did he work Pauley last week? That would be bad karma.:(

Just got off the phone with a "friend." Don't expect see Dave in the Pac-10 or NCAA tournament. It's just a shame to have a season end like that for a great official.

Yes, he worked the UCLA/Cal game. He was the C on the final shot.

NO WAY!!!! It must a complete tear. Did it happen when he tipped over that sub at the table in the first half? I saw him move in transition, did a little jump, landed, then cracks a foul. Media T.O. then the alternate comes in an announcers say he tore is calf.
