Bench personnel
 

Dead ball. Coach yells for sub off bench who runs to scorers table as B1 is walking off court, pulls up jersey. Ref techs him...... Within the rules.........question, at what point does B1 become bench personnel which would determine if B coach gets an indirect.

I'm thinking not until official beckons in B sub. If I'm right, what if R beckons in sub just as U1 toots tech?


Addendum.......... Original play was player pulled jersey out of pants, did not REMOVE jersey, therefore, getting of topic, it should not be a tech at all. I was wrong in my original post. I think its 10-3-3, but if it was a tech 3-3-3 as Snapper posted addresses this.

B1 becomes bench personnel after his/her substitute becomes a player, which is after they (the substitue) have legally entered the court. Timing is everything; player beckoned at the same exact time of whistle for a T; i would consider B1 a player.
