OT: WAY OT...Cars...

I'm gonna start looking for a new used car here pretty soon....Does anybody own a Saturn Aura?

I really like the look of this car and wondering if anybody has one.

The other one I like is the Pontiac G6....

Anybody....Beuller....Beuller....

I owned a Saturn about 10 yrs ago. It wasn't my best car. It was loud and underpowered and the engine & cooling system both suddenly went into near-death at around 115K miles. In fact it died twice twice on the way to the dealership lot of my next car. It had to make it there because I traded it in as part of the deal, when I finally made it to the lot it was steaming antifreeze... but that's another story & I understand Saturn has improved their quality since then.

Back to the original off-topic topic....

My wife and I bought a Saturn Outlook last summer. We love it.

While we were there, I test drove the Aura....if I could have, I would have bought that one too.

Comfortable, seemed to have adequate power, and roomy enough for five people. Nice smooth ride and easy to drive.

Hope that helps.

You realize the Aura is a Opel design (German)...so in other words you would be driving a FIBA car.

i suggest a Toyota corolla as a great all round car....boring yes, but comfortable, extremely well made, good on gas, excellent dependability...and they make the just down the road from me in Cambridge Ontario.

I actually own an Aura, and I've been happy with it so far.

Plusses: V-6 has good power and decent mileage (at least compared to the 4-cyl. Chrysler I had previously), quiet ride, roomy interior (for that size car), built-in XM.

Minuses: Trunk is slightly smaller than I expected - I cannot fit in 4 sets of golf clubs. Also, even though the interior looks nice and has some good features, there are some plastic parts that don't feel high-quality. (I guess that's probably not fair that I would want high-quality parts in a medium-quality vehicle, so it's probably not a big minus.)
