Had a JV game where A1 was administered the ball during the FT when the coach for A1 call a timeout. I granted the TO but my partner later said that I couldn't do that after I had handed him the ball. We looked in the rules book but could find anything about it. Was I right or wrong?

Don't have the rule book in front of me, but the ball is in their team control. Timeout is okay. Team B couldn't call one.

Pizzano you are correct. With the ball at their disposal, A can call T.O. but B cannot. Just like during a throw in.
