It's no different than when B1 slaps the ball while it's in the hands of thrower A1. We would have to ignore the contact on the ball, not call the T, and simply issue the warning. But we know that it doesn't work that way. If you're unable to stop the play, then you have to address what happened, not what would have happened if you'd been faster with the whistle.
