Shouldn't this have been a Double foul?
 

Last night's varsity game. On a drive to the basket, player A1 charges into B1. The official out top furthest away from the scorer's table blows his whistle, gives the punch and points the other way. He starts to walk to the scorer's table and the official is already there giving out a foul on B1. The official with the player control foul on A1 turned around and got back into position for team A's throw-in. No officials' huddle and no verbal communication that I could hear.

I thought I read on this thread that once the mechanic is given then it's by rule a double foul and you go with POI.

By rule, yes. Not all officials do this by rule, though.

Sounds like communication 101 is in order!
