Tales from 1st Year: The most kicked call?

I see this call made all the time in games that I do.

I make this call.

I don't think it is the correct call.

It goes under the "just cuz a play looks funny...."

I'm talking about a moving player receiving a pass, muffing the catch to some degree, moving through space with the basketball being juggled around their person... TWEET!! -- TRAVELING!

Bottom line, the player never has control of the ball. No player control --- no Traveling violation. Yet, IT LOOKS FUNNY. It looks illegal. I call it, I have partners call it.

Maybe when the game slows down for me I won't call it.

As GI Joe said, "knowing is half the battle". Now you just have to quit putting air in the whistle.

I think it's when a player receives a pass and fumbles it before gaining control. Hardly a game goes by that this happens and you hear "dead, dead, dead" from the bench.
