Colt: OT usually means Over Time. It's generally better to spell it out OFF TOPIC.

26 Year Gap Fri Feb 01, 2008 09:18pm

Yeah--it's waaaaay off topic.

This comment sums it up though.

You would think someone who keeps asking if those he's berating have ever worked in television would be smart enough to notice the red light on the camera indicating he's being taped. What a moron.

Mark Padgett Fri Feb 01, 2008 09:50pm

This is got to be a put-on. He keeps making eye contact with the camera.

Nope, it's the Internet and this is an Internet message board. OT = Off Topic. Now you know.

I work in TV. Have done post-production, graphics, cameraman, etc. Chris is right - there are many people in TV that don't know what they're doing. They only do their little job and that's it.

From the Wikipedia article "List of Internet slang specific to thread-based communication"

OT "off topic" (used in forums)

I was truely shocked that OT isn't standard slang for over time

Yup, I'm definitely NOT an internet person by nature. Just use it occasionally when it suits other purposes. So should we formulate a different abbreviation for OverTime? Or (heaven forfend!) actually have to use context and inference to derive the meaning?

Edit: I think the op is unbelievably boring. What's funny about a guy acting stupid and swearing a lot?

We won't disagree there. It's an old video and unsurprising and I can see a lot of people acting that way in the same circumstance.

Doesn't Chris Berman realize he is bald? Why does he keep doing the comb over?
