I call a ball-handling violation on A1 right in front of A's bench at the end away from the table. Coach disagreed. He says, "How could you see that from where you were?" (I was about five feet away with the perfect angle.) "Coach, he had his hand clear under the ball." "No, he didn't!!" Play goes on. The next time back in front of this bench, Coach takes off his own glasses, and says, "Do you want to borrow these?" I said, "They're not doing YOU any good, how would they help me?"
He didn't complain about another thing the rest of the game. |

Juulie - all my teaching is finally paying off. Great job. Now, all we have to work on is to get a more sarcastic tone in your voice, and you'll be perfect.

I like your reply.
May I add my first Davism reply at this time. While doing a 5A High School JV game I gave an offensive foul to a post player without the ball. He had great position to receive the ball from the wing. He was defended by a smaller player. His team was up about 20. The defender was to the rear & behind the offensive player. The offense sized his guy up with a couple let me feel where your are elbows. Then he gets a good swing & polietly pops the guy in the throat area with an elbow. While I'm reporting the foul, the offensive coach says, you haven't called that all night. I quickly reply, He hasn't done that all night. I felt great!

BTW, in NF, there's no such thing as an "offensive" foul. If it's not PC, it's simply personal. If you report it as an offensive foul, the coach will have more to complain about when you go to the other end to shoot FT's.
