Q from 1st Year: Free-throw try is an airball.

I'm trail, air in the whistle, hand in the air.... and then...? what?
What do you do here? "Violation!" Point to basket??

dunno.

Point at the basket and point the opposite direction or just point opposite. Either way, it's no big mystery what happened.

That works.
Pointing to the basket may help clarify for your partner.

This works for pretty much any free throw violation. Whistle and hand up, point to where the "bad thing" happened, then point the other direction.

Just make sure it's on the final free throw. If it's the first of two shots, sit there and enjoy the breeze!

Whistle. "Violation. No rim." Point the other way. Works for me.

I use signal #26 with a "No rim"; point other direction. Works well for me.
