double OT thriller
 

GV game. Home team behind all game until last 2 minutes when they outscore opponents 12-2 to tie game and take it to OT. OT starts and home team scores the first 7 points and it stays there until there is less than 30 secs in OT. Now it starts - partner whistles a pushing foul on home team star post player. It is her 5th foul. As she goes past him when he is reporting she begins swearing and stomping her feet and making comments on the call. WHACK - she gets the T. Coach and player are informed of 5th foul and coach immediately replaces her. While turning to get things going - 2 FT for double bonus and then the T, I see this same player taking her jersey off and tossing it on an adjacent chair. WHACK!

Opponents make 5 of 6 FT, get ball run clock and sink 2 point bucket with 3 seconds left to tie game again. We go into double OT. Baskets are traded throughout and home team finally scores at buzzer to win 71-69!

First T occurs while reporting. Player is not yet bench personnel.
That would make that a player technical, even though it would be her 6th.

Second T occurs after player is DQ'd and is bench personnel. Is that a bench technical?

Sounds like a fun game btw.

So she doesn't become bench personnel until she's 'off the court' or once the player/coach are notified that she's committed her 5th foul?

she is not officially bench personnel until she has been replaced following her disqualification.

Once the coach is notified player becomes bench personnel.

Gee, and I had a simple Double OT game on Sat afternoon that seems oh so ordinary and uneventful now...... ;)

As TrueRookie said, that only true for normal substitutions. For disqualifications, it's when the coach is notified. NFHS rule 3-3-3.
