Question Newbie had question regarding foul penalty

Worked with a newbie last night and he had a question on a call (NF rules):

A1 inbounding. He hands the ball to A1 but prior to A1 releasing the ball, A2 fouls B1. Team B is in the bonus. Should he allow shots since it was a live ball but no team control. He asked me what to do. His question revolved around knowing there's no shot on a team control foul and that on a dead ball, the foul has to be intentional or flagrant to shoot, but what about a live ball when there's no team control and the foul was not intentional or flagrant.

What do you think my answer was?

You know me too well. You forgot "I can't answer that. I left my English-Jibberish dictionary at home."

OK, since I've used up almost 10 minutes worth of jokes, anyone care to venture what the correct answer should be?

In this situation we are going to shot the bonus. No, team control during throw-in. Line'em up and shoot.

And then tell him what a great job he is doing by catching the foul on the court instead of focusing exclusively on whether or not A1 was stepping onto the court before/during the throw in, like some newbie do ...... errr .... did.

I figured he went with door #3; before giving the kid the correct ruling.
