Basketball officiating camps

I'm 21 yrs old and this season is my 4th season officiating. After reading some posts on this forum; I realize that camps are very important to attend in order to improve. I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure if this has been a topic previously, but can members list some excellent basketball officiating camps to attend. I live near Indianapolis, IN. Thanks.

You have to ask yourself a few questions first.
  1. What am I looking to get out of this camp?
  2. What kind of money am I willing to spend?
  3. How far am I willing to travel?
  4. What level (if any) do you want to achieve?
It is a little early to give much information on all the camps. Information will not really come out until late February and early March. And if you are going to attend college camps in your area, that information is likely not going to be available for a couple of conferences because the Supervisor is moving up to the NCAA Supervisor of Official's position (on the Men's side) and there has not been an announced hire for his replacement. Stick around for a few months and that information should be all over this site.

Peace

I don't want to jack the thread, but if anyone wants to go to Vegas March 20-22 to work some games let me know. You would have to pay your own way and the game fee is not going to make you rich. It is just another excuse to go to Las Vegas. Also, there is a tournament July 22-26. This is not a camp, but it is some good experience officiating some very good players. PM me.

I would highly recommend Dave Vendrely's camp @ Spiece Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne. It will be some of the best play in the country. The instruction, & quality of the clinician (Men's & Women's DI officials) is unbeatable for $100.00.

I hit 5 camps a summer and this is by far the cheapest.

Eric Harmon would also be a good contact for you. He assigns the NCC, MCC (Men's), Oakland City, and some other independents. PM me and I can get you their contact info.

Which Association do you belong to?

I also thank you. Just got back into officiating after approx a 13 year absence. Finding out need to really refine my mechanics after this long of a break.

Any good websites to find out info on Dave Vendrely's camp? I am also from the central Indy area. I have found info on the I think it was Hightower's camp in Chicago.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave Vendreley's camp at the Speice Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne is excellent. At others have said, great talent, great games, excellent facilities and excellent clinicians. I went last year for the first time and I'll be there again this year. This year's dates are May 2, 3 & 4.
