Call jurisdiction

Team A takes ballout after made basket. I'm now trail, partner running up sideline as Lead. As he approached mid line, calls a backcourt violation on B. I'm barely in the court from throw-in under basket. My evaluator tells me later that should have been my call not the leads. I claim no way I could see the violation with all the players in front of me. Comments?

Color me confused. How did B commit a backcourt violation when it was A's ball?

Assuming you meant backcourt violation on team A, I have always been taught that if the play is coming towards you like in this case it is the leads call. I would disagree with your evaluator and say its the leads call.

You're gonna have to give us more help than that, partner.
