Wrong number on foul

After a foul call, my partner gave me the shooters number and continued to the table with the report. I had turned attention to the player who had retrieved the ball in the corner. As I head to the Lead position to step in the lane, Partner says, did you get the number on the foul? Uh oh..... Shook my head no and looked at the players. Best thing to do in this situation is ask who fouled. Sort-of turned comical with everyone in the lane giggling. Finally the girl that fouled admitted it. It took a good 10 seconds for a confession. I gave them the integrity line as we looked for the culprit.

I had this happen to me at least once years ago, but I just simply went to the table, asked the visiting scorer if she saw it and she said yes. Gave me the number. Most of the time, the official scorer or visitors books know who fouled. Well, most of the time.
