Can't find ruling... hiding under my nose...?

Okay... it is in there somewhere, I'm sure... however, I can't find the NFHS ruling.

If the ball... after a free throw attempt... does not touch the rim (ie., airball and not a made swish) then it is a violation, right?
If it only touches the backboard then that is a violation too... right?

Anyway, I have looked through NFHS Rules Book 4-20, 8, and 9-1 and cannot find a description for this violation.

Could someone quote page and verse for me and confirm that it has been hiding under my nose...?

Only for the shooter, not for rebounders along the lane lines.

Lane player enter upon contact of rim/backboard....in this case it only hits backboard...TWEET...shooter violation, must make contact with the rim.

Oh, I see it now. Peaking from behind the "He/she shall throw within 10 seconds..."

So, if there is a delayed lane violation by defense and free throw misses the rim and contacts only backboard then it is a free thrower violation and:
1) if it was the first attempt of a two/three shot foul, then we move on to second/thrid shot with no re-attempt; or,
2) if it was the last attempt or first of a one-and-one, then it is still a free thrower violation and ball is put underneath for a defense throw-in...?

It's a double violation. Go to the arrow.
