Yabut if it was part of the wording that defined the violation (last to touch it in the frontcourt), then who tipped it, who threw it, or who otherwise touched it last would make a difference. In the OP, Team A was not the last to touch it in the frontcourt.

I'm with you. The rule and the interpretation are contradictory to each other.
