I'm from IN and would like to know how many states have their State Associations assign all games at the Varsity levels. We have to have a 10 game varsity minimum before we can apply for Tournament. It is very difficult to get A.D.s to give you a chance. I have been in this now for 8 years and I am getting very frustrated! It is like life I guess. It's not what you know, it's who you know. I love officiating, and have a chance to maybe move into women's Div 1. Seems like that might be easier than getting into State Tourney. Any comments would be appreciated.

Move to Las Vegas! We added 3 new high schools this year and will have 5 more in the next 3 years.
We base game assignments on what you can do on the floor, not who you know. It may take a little time to get to the state tournament as that is assigned by the commissioner of officials after he is given a list of people from the assignor who have worked at the AAAA level. We also have Easter, spring, and summer leagues and tournaments. We call ball almost 9 months of the year. The college scene is difficult with only UNLV and UNR in the state and officials who want to work in college usually travel I15 to California for their games. |
